12/11/2007 08:12:26 pm IN BUDS
I'm in BUD/s right now finishing up indoc then entering phase right after and this program set me up for success. If your not sure if you have what it takes or you want to test your motivation this is the place to do it. i had so much fun and it really did help with indoc because i knew what was coming and it came and is still coming hard. all the instructors at this event have tons of experience and helped give me a taste of what was coming. i would suggest it to anyone who is thinking about any special forces especially SEALS. all guys are waayyyy jealous of things i got to do and it helps ease nerves as nobody knows how to handle a log and you do because of this event. in all it was a great experience and is well worth whatever you have to do to go. good luck

A phenomenal program. Even though I’m currently in the military, I came in not really knowing what to expect. Understandably, you can read all the books, articles, testimonies, and watch all the videos you want, but you won’t know the feeling until you’re sitting in the driver’s seat. This program for me was my own “qualifying” test before I plunge head on into applying for the SEAL program. After 24 hours with some of the most remarkable instructors I have ever worked with, I now have my answer. Out of everything I experienced over the course, what impressed me most was the quality of instructors who came out, specifically Don Mann, Stephen Erle, and Instructor Bud. Without a doubt, Don Mann is one of the most unique and awe inspiring individuals I have ever met. Even when I was up for 24 hours with continual exercise and was totally exhausted, it was such a privilege to have Instructor Mann speak to us on a variety of topics and issues. Instructor Erle was very good at “keeping it real”. I feel that he did his best to keep the evolution as strictly to BUD/S standards and difficulty that he could. Instructor Bud was a great teacher in the field, guiding and coaching us through various evolutions and helping out wherever he could. I feel that the reason I learned and enjoyed myself so much within the short 24 hour span I attended was a direct reflection of the professionalism and quality of the staff at SAC. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a great group of guys. Also, a big thanks to CAPT Bisset, other instructors, and corpsman that came out to support and coach us. I hope everyone who attended had as much fun as I did.

11/01/2007 02:11:28 pm Reality Check
I have attended other BUD's training camps, but this was the most realistic. The instructor staff were the best and they went out of their way to speak with you and give you advice. I learned proper techniqe for the PT test along with tips on how to improve. The camp pushed me physically and mentally to the limit. I came away from the camp understanding I need to do a lot more preparation before BUDS and also gave me a great deal of respect for SEALs.

10/30/2007 09:10:26 pm Awesome Experience!!
I just want to say thank you for this excellent experience/opportunity. There aren't many things a person can do to learn to push themselves past their limits and that's exactly what the SAC did for me. I think everyone in this country should attend something like this, maybe then we could regain that patriotism that was once much more common than today. Overall, this experience taught me the value of perseverance, hard work, and a good attitude. Although it did not fully answer the question, "Do I have what it takes to be a Navy SEAL?", it did give me a much better idea of what I'm made of and what I need to improve on. I definitely plan to attend the next one in May of '08. Hooyah Class 15!
